Louie's House is for men 18 years of age and older who are motivated for recovery from alcohol and drug problems. While there is a schedule for residents to follow, the program is individualized to each man's needs.

The schedule includes groups, lectures, leisure activities, assignments, and 12-step meetings.
There is no pre-determined length of stay. Most men need between 12-24 months. Time is often the most important element in learning a new way of life without drugs and alcohol.
Louie's House follows the 12-step philosophy. Attendance of AA meetings is an integral part of the program. Each resident must get a sponsor and begin to work the 12 steps.
Although eventual employment is a goal for residents, most people need several months to completely integrate into the house and recovery community before seeking employment. Dr. Robert and Carol Lind determine when a resident can look for work based on the individual's progress in the program.
When someone is ready to discharge, a plan is developed to facilitate a smooth transition.
